My robot

The girl was very surprised, though pleasantly so, to hear that he'd returned.
He hugged her, and she hugged him back.
She smiled at him and asked him how things had gone.
"I got the repairs, and I'm free now."
 "Oh thank God...I thought..."
He touched her shoulder gently.
"I know, I was afraid that might happen if I left too. But it didn't, we can finally be together."
She kissed him then.
They both knew how her family felt about him, and a part of her still wondered if he was real in truth.
A robot who was programmed to be human.
 Did he have a soul?
Was his heart, his love real?

She knew he thought similiar things, he once told her how afraid he was that he'd someday find out that he wasn't different from the other robots, that he wasn't real but a computer glitch, a fabrication.
That she wouldn't have real love.
"If your love is artificial..." She had told him, "Then who needs the real thing?"

Immense relief washed over her to hear that she had him back, once and for all.

They had time now for the real questions, like how would they deal with his eternity and her mortality? Or...could a robot marry a human?

But they had their whole lives to find their answers now.
And were more than happy to have that time to spend.

I like the premise, but it seems to only very lightly touch on it.

Also, if he's a robot, can't he just wipe the memories once she dies and start over with someone else? Could a robot ever forget he's a robot? (Did that happen in Blade Runner???)

Reminds me of Bicentennial Man

Because it was only a dream I had, and not one of those dreams that spanned movie-length either.

And I suppose he could, depending on his system capabilities -- though, whether he'd want to...

Hm, too long since I saw Blade Runner -- and lol, I'd forgotten about Bicentennial Man. I'm not sure that's how this story'd turn out though. More likely, had I decided to run with this story, I probably would've ended up making her more machine.

The humanoid robot falls for the machine-mannered human?
